Waxing in Letchworth
Intimate waxing is what I’m known for, and it’s the treatment people are most nervous about. Specialised hot wax, a private room, and someone who has done this for thirty-five years.
What to expect
A private room with the door shut, and someone completely matter-of-fact about it. If it’s your first time, or you’ve had a bad experience elsewhere, tell me before we start. It changes how I work.
I use a specialised hot wax for facial and intimate areas. It shrink-wraps the hair rather than gripping the skin, which makes it noticeably kinder than strip wax on sensitive areas. I work quickly and talk you through it.
Afterwards, skin can be pink for a few hours. Skip heat, swimming and sunbeds for 24 hours and you’ll be fine.
Who it’s for
People who want it done properly and discreetly. Intimate waxing makes up a large part of what I do. It’s one of the reasons clients travel to me from across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Getting the best result
- Hair wants to be about a quarter of an inch, two to three weeks of growth
- Rebook every four to six weeks; regrowth comes back finer
- Exfoliate gently between appointments, but not the day before or after
- Skip heat, swimming and sunbeds for 24 hours afterwards
- Book earlier in the day if you’re prone to redness

Before you book
Does intimate waxing hurt?
There’s a sting on the first few pulls and then it settles. Most people find it far more manageable than they expected. Hot wax is gentler than strip wax on intimate areas, and regular appointments hurt less over time.
How long does the hair need to be?
About a quarter of an inch, so roughly two to three weeks of growth. Too short and the wax can’t grip; very long is fine, I’ll trim it first.
What’s the difference between Brazilian, Playboy and Hollywood?
Brazilian (extended) leaves a neat strip or triangle. Playboy leaves a narrower strip. Hollywood removes everything. If you’re unsure, say so and I’ll explain before we start.
Can I be waxed on my period?
Yes, as long as you’re wearing a tampon or cup. Skin can be a little more sensitive, so it may feel slightly sharper, but it’s absolutely fine.
